These are the terms for using Tevana Journal, run by Tevana Technique (“we”). By creating an account you agree to them. They are short on purpose; if anything is unclear, ask barrett@tevanatechnique.com.
What Tevana is
A journal for capturing your days and seeing patterns in them over time — what raises your frequency, what drops it, what repeats. It is a tool for reflection. It is not therapy, medical advice, or a crisis service, and nothing you write is watched in real time.
If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please contact emergency services or, in the US, call or text 988. The deepest emotional work belongs with a person — a therapist, a coach, or someone you trust — and we would rather say so plainly than pretend software can hold it.
Your content stays yours
Everything you write, record, or upload belongs to you. You give us permission to store it, process it, and show it back to you only so far as needed to run Tevana for you — including sending it to the AI model you choose, when you choose one. We do not claim any other rights to it, and that permission ends when you delete it or your account. You can export your writing at any time. How we handle it is in the privacy page.
What AI gives you
Summaries, reviews, and answers written by an AI can be wrong, incomplete, or miss what mattered. They are there to help you look, not to tell you what is true about your life. Please do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.
Connected services
If you connect another service, such as Oura, your use of it is also governed by that service's own terms. You can disconnect it in Settings whenever you like.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be 18 or over.
- Do not use Tevana to break the law, to store material you have no right to, or to try to reach anyone else's data or disrupt the service.
You can stop using Tevana at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
An early product, honestly described
Tevana is young and changing. We work hard to keep your journal safe and working, but we provide it as it is, without promises that it will always be available, error-free, or suited to a particular purpose. Features may change or be removed. Export your journal regularly — it is the surest copy there is.
If we ever decide to shut Tevana down, we will tell you by email and in the app with at least 30 days' notice, so you have time to take everything with you.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using Tevana, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law does not allow us to limit.
Price
Tevana is currently free while it is being built. If that changes, we will tell you before any charge, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Tevana after that, the new terms apply.
